The Iron Maiden-- a total water immersion G-capsule. Designed by R. Flanagan Gray, who worked at the Aviation Medical Research Laboratory at the Johnsville Centrifuge (at NADC). On Dec 7, 1958, Gray rode in the Iron Maiden (which was hung on a cradle on the arm of the centrifuge) and sustained 31.25 G for 5 seconds-- a record which still stands today.
