Bill Bubeck, who was a model maker for Johnsville Naval base. Per family members, it is their understanding that he created the initial model for the Johnsville centrifuge which is seen in the picture. He also shared with family that he had the opportunity to meet and eat lunch daily with the initial seven Project Mercury astronauts who came to train on the centrifuge. (He even had opinions about those who liked and did not!)
